Online Shipping
Online Shipping is something our parents would have never heard of growing up. But with the explosion of the world wide web, shopping has become an ongoing thing, 24/7, 365 days a year.
It is not uncommon for a business in Queensland to buy a product from Paris, or a person in New Jersey to purchase something from Beijing. The Internet never closes. The doors to the cyberspace shop never lock down.
But there is one problem. You can order online and even pay online, but in order to get what you just bought, you need to shell out for Online Shipping. The thing you just decided to buy can't squeeze through cyberspace and plop onto your desk. At least not yet, outside of Star Trek episodes. Tele-transporting is decades away in technology, that is if it is even possible to blast apart molecules and seamlessly bring them back together again. But Sci-Fi aside, the product needs to get from them to you, doesn't it?
Most likely the company will hire a Shipping Service to get the product to you. You must pay extra for that, because they have to be paid. Makes sense, doesn't it? You pay for the convenience of getting the item you want delivered to your door. Beats the plane ticket to get to their storefront, if one even exists outside of cyberspace.
Still, with the bargains you can get over the web, you can still save money despite the cost they tack on for online shipping. That is, unless of course you need it ASAP and pay for Express Shipping.
