Supply Chain Inventory

Supply Chain Inventory is essential to running an efficient operation. Every link need supplies of some sort, to be readily available. If you run low, or worse, run out, the link in the supply chain breaks and everyone suffers.

The trick is to always have enough, but not too much. Overstocking causes profit loss. Lose profit and you can't make a go of it in business. But ordering too little and running out can be just as  damaging. There is a fine line between the two that requires a good, consistent flow of the Supply Chain Inventory.  You need to be constantly checking on how much you have of what and when it was last ordered.  Every business relies on inventory of some sort.  Even if it is just copy paper and ink, or pens and paper, things can't operate without supplies,

One of the jobs of the Supply Chain Procurement manager is to make sure that everyone has just the right amount of what they need plus a tad bit more, just in case. Also, supply must be fresh, safe for use and of excellent quality. That is also essential for good inventory.

A part of every business's budget is taking into account what they need to purchase in order to operate.  When your business department is interdependent upon another in the link from raw material to shipping the finished product,  if you run low or run out, it effects everyone else.  Supply Chains Operations cannot run smoothly when it has poorly managed or stocked inventory.
